High-speed Internet Service Availability**
|
The Cambria Connected Network consists of 17
core towers (two more in 2010) and predominately
uses line of sight radios. This means the radios
must have a clear view to the tower, no obstructions
and within 7 miles of the tower.
There are three types of radios; the standard radio
provides 3Mb/s to 54Mb/s of bandwidth, the 900Mhz 1Mb/s
mobile radio while primarily for emergency vehicles
is an option for homes surrounded by trees, and the
WiFi units providing wireless internet access (you
must live in the WiFi bubble) at 27 hotspots
throughout the county.
You can check to see if your address can obtain
services from the Cambria Connected Network by
clicking the below box. You are looking for a graph that
shows a clear path from your address to the tower.
